In spring 2022 the Pastors and Pastoral Administrator of the seven parishes convened a Pastoral Planning Task Force including representatives from each parish. The goal is to ensure that the Church’s mission of Word, Worship, Community and Service continues in a vibrant way in our area under the constraints of demographics, financial resources, and priest availability. To that end the Task Force:
- gathered data about the current reality and projected trends
- communicated this information along with regular updates to parishioners
- chose three areas in which to work collaboratively—evangelization, vocations, and developing a shared website—and created three committees to lead these initiatives
- began preparing recommendations to present to the Bishop of Rochester for preferred groupings of parishes when he is unable to appoint a Pastor/Pastoral Administrator to lead any of our parishes. These recommendations, now in draft form only, will be finalized after input is received from parish staffs, parish pastoral councils and finance councils, and parishioners at large. There is no intent to close any of our parishes.
