Lent is a 40 day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday March 5, and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday April 17. It’s a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter. During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; we serve by giving alms; and we practice self-control through fasting.
Lent is a great time to “repent” — to return to God and refocus our lives to be more in line with Jesus. It’s a 40-day trial run in changing your lifestyle and letting God change your heart. You can use the Roc Catholics Northwest Lent flyer to help with these practices for Lent.
